Gift of Life: Prevailing God’s Mercy

Life has been and will always be a gift for everyone. That gift is something that many people would do anything to have. It includes the life of an unborn child – a life that grows in the womb of a woman. For some people, this gift is not something they would ask for because of their reasons. However, some are not just capable enough to be given this kind of gift. If you have the choice, would you instead take it or leave it?

Dr. Christina Browne, the author of The Word: That Made Us Whole, wrote in her book that she was once engaged in pre-marital sex, something that was considered “taboo.” She was diagnosed with infertility but now has three beautiful children. Before having kids, there were many attempts to have one but unluckily, nothing conceived, and there perhaps luckily for they were not yet married during that time. However, God works in a way that we are never aware of how. Their prayers do come true by just trusting God and putting their faith in Him for so long. It was a long journey but worth the wait.

“Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself is the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:4

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

God answers our prayers in three ways: yes, no, and yes, but not now. There are times where whenever we pray, we always want our prayers to be answered right away. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. Among anyone in this world, only God knows if what we want is good for us. More often or not, He will not give us what we want but what we need. Either way, we have to accept it for more than anyone else, we are still blessed.
